OMG!

OMG is all I can say!  I can't believe it has been so long since my last post.  Where has the time gone?  I guess I have been enjoying my life as a 1-year old, now 14 month old.  The last month has gone by so fast.  I have done a lot of playing outside with my neighbors, eating lots of food, and doing some traveling.  I went to visit my Grandma & Grandpa in Kansas.  My Aunt Kaitlin was there also.  But as usual, my favorite one there is Brett, the dog.  He was so funny this time, I just laughed and laughed at him and he wasn't even doing anything.  I guess he just looked at me funny.  We went to Lawrence, ate lunch, looked at books, and then ate snacks.  I have also gotten to go to some Schuyler football games, Dad says I run for more yards that the team.  I'm not sure what he means, I just walk back and forth and all around.  Everyone is so friendly and they say, Hi Charlie.  I just do my own thing for as long as I can before bedtime comes.  Here are some pics:

All my walking these days gets me into a little trouble also.  Here is a picture of my first black eye.  I might have slipped and hit my head on the toilet.  Mom said I cried really hard, but didn't think I hit it very hard, the next day my shiner showed up.  I have also managed to chip one of my front teeth, good thing they are baby teeth :)  You can see my eye here.

Here's me and my cuz Rowan.  We of course realize that we both exist, but we just aren't quite interacting yet.  Someday we will play together.  Right now we both enjoy walking and that is all we need.  I think we were celebrating our birthdays at Grandmas.

Here are some more pictures of various things... hanging out at home, hanging out in Grand Island while Dad ran a half marathon, hanging out at Grandma & Grandpa Potter's, Valentinos, taking baths, and last but not least a picture of me at my 1 year photos (embarrassing).

My favorite toy, my radio.

Watching the other kids swim

Go Huskers!  First game of 2011

Bath Mohawk time!  I love bath time.

Lazy days with Mom now that she has a full Tuesday off to play with me.  We love it!

I love me some Vals.

Now they say I look like Toad in this hat?  Who's that?

Helllllooooooo!

Outside with neighbors

Notice the bib, it's normal and not a first.  I think that is a first.

Apparently I'm not happy taking my pics.  Glad they caught this on camera.

Anyways, sorry for the long time between posts.  I will do better.  I may have more pictures from this past month or so on a different camera so will post them if I can.  Talk with you soon.  Love, CharlieP.

Manic Monday

Manic Monday is all I can say.  What a day!  I don't have much time because I'm really tired today, in fact I'm going to go to bed really early because Mom says I'm crabby.  She's right.  I have some more photos from my birthday that I forgot to put up. Hope you enjoy!

Here I am getting ready for my 1 year photos, on my actual birthday.  I was combing my hair to make sure I looked cute enough for my pics.  Mom thinks that my 1 year photos didn't go very well.  I blame her, she made me take them right when I usually nap.  I tried to stay happy, but I was really tired.

Here is the Chuck Truck that my Aunt Julie got me.  It has my name, how cool!

Diving into presents.  And that is my friend Brooklyn helping me.

Here is me after a busy day of food, friends & cake!

I was trying to take a self shot, but you know how it goes, sometimes you don't always center it. I need some practice.

Here I am playing with one of my favorite toys.  I love the color orange just like mommy.

What a mug shot if I've ever seen one....thanks Mom.

1 whole year of life!

Yes, everyone, I am 1 year old!!!!  Finally! First I want to take the time to thank my Mom & Dad for keeping me alive for these past 12 months.  I know it isn't easy putting up with me.  It's been super fun these last 12 months, as I've reviewed my blog, I see I've done some pretty awesome things.  Thanks Mom & Dad, I couldn't have made it this far without you...lol.  I've gone from just laying there to walking, drinking just milk to eating full meals.  I've even started saying some words.  I say da da da dad, but I'm not convinced I know what it means quite yet.  I think my parents have decided that my first word is "oook" or book?  Now I'm starting to say gawk, or bath, and then gaaa guk, or timber.  I say things a little funny but they can understand me.

In addition to all the great things I've done I have some more to add.  Starting with my 1st birthday party...it was on my birthday.  So many family and friends came to Schuyler to hang out with me- both of my grandparents, my Aunt Julie and Aunt Kaitlin, Uncle Adam and Uncle Geno, my friends, Kate J & Lilah, Brooklyn & Bella, Sofia, Zach & Joey, Kate S and Mia.  I woke up to the chaos of a party and wasn't quite awake yet.  It wasn't too long before I was back in full swing eating some cake.  Then my presents were opened although Mom didn't have much help from me, I was too busy walking around not paying attention she says.  Everyone was too generous, I got some awesome toys!  Here are some pictures from my exciting day...
Birthday Breakfast

Birthday Cake...MMMM

What a mess....bath time!

My new Kawasaki from Mia.

My Cozy Coupe..

Thanks Mom & Dad....I guess you can't have a childhood without one?

Since my birthday I have done some traveling.  I had my first "really" long road trip.  We went to Minnesota!  It was about 7 hours in the car, and I did really well.  I took some naps, watched my favorite video, Baby Einstein Noah's Ark, and then read books and played a lot with Mom. Here's a video of us trying to pass the time.

My Mom is so silly.  I also went to my 3rd wedding, yes, I've been to 3 weddings and I'm just 1.  Dad can't complain about weddings anymore, 3 by the age of 1, I definitely win.  I also went to my first, yes I said first, hoping there will be more, Twins game.  It was pretty cool seeing the field, but I was more interested in walking around and eating french fries or peanut shells off the ground.  Mom kept telling me "no," are you not supposed to do that?

Here is a picture of me at my Mom's work picinic.  I had so much fun!  There was a big pool full of ducks and you could pick the ducks out.  I went in for my first duck, and whoops in went my head.  I got a little wet.  Then all I wanted to do was play in that pool.  Mom even tried to take me far away from it, but as soon as she let me down I took off and headed straight for the pool. Nobody can stop me now.  I accidentally splashed another girl, she cried.  I felt bad so Mom apologized.

And lastly, now that I'm 1, or just getting too big, I am wearing big boy jammies...check me out, you can see my feet!

Well now that jammies are on I'm off to bed, have a good night, I can't wait to celebrate the next year with you.  Love CharlieP

Independence Day

Yep you guessed it, it's my first 4th of July!  I spent one day in Kearney at my Great Grandma Dorothy's with my Grandma & Grandpa Peterson and the next at my Grandma and Grandpa Potter's.  It was sooo much fun.  I did a lot of fun things.  Here are some pics.

This was the first time in a pool.  It was pretty cold water, unlike my bath which is nice and warm.  I was a little confused wearing clothes in a big bath, but I guess that's what kids do these days.  I splashed and splashed but was a little scared to move around much.
Ha!  You thought I forgot about the bib.  How could I, this is my last 1st Holiday Bib, and I am very excited never to wear them again, it just wouldn't make sense to wear them next year?

Besides celebrating my first 4th there was one other big thing that I did these past few weeks. I had my first haircut... not by Mommy.  I was a rockstar, I sat quietly on Mom's lap and played with my favorite toy, a comb.  This is my friend Megan, she was the one who made me look so cute!  I can't wait to see her again.

Here are some more pics of me just hanging out around the house.  It is my favorite place.  I just bounce around from toy to toy and make a huge mess.  Then in the morning it is nicely arranged until I come and start playing.  I'm not sure how things keep getting put back where they belong?  Mom says someday I will learn how to pick up after myself.

Before I go, I want to throw a shout out to my cuz Rowan!  He celebrated his 1st birthday last week.  I was sad that I didn't get to celebrate with him, but I heard through the grapevine he can really throw down some cake.  Way to go cuz, hope to see you soon.

Well I'm out for the night, but have some good videos to share. I will try to get them up tomorrow or the next day.  Thanks for checking me out!  Nite Nite, CharlieP.

I promised a video of me walking, so here you go!  It's not the best but I'm learning. It won't be too long until I'm running.

Almost 11 months...

I have the best Mom ever, she is letting me use the computer even though I woke her up last night.  I have a limited amount of time though.  Rules...thumbsdown.

Here are some pictures to capture the last few months.  I have been a busy boy on the move...yes on the move.  I finally figured out how to crawl the right way and now I move fast. Then I realized that I like it when someone holds both of my hands and I get to go on walks. This last week I am even brave enough to just walk without someone holding me..."my first steps" as everyone keeps calling it.  I hope to be walking very soon without falling straight to the ground.  I am definitely experiencing some good falls recently.  I don't have any good videos of me walking, but I do have a video of something else I learned this weekend.  It's pretty cool.

Here are some quick pics....I'll try to explain what I am doing, but most of the time I don't know what I am doing :)

This is Vivi, my neighbor.  It looks like she is strangling me, but she's not.  She plays very nice with me on Mondays when our Dads go golfing.  We make forts, and she pretends like she is my sister.  It is so fun!

Where's Waldo...Where's Charlie?  My Mom told me to write that.  I don't even know who Waldo is?

WEEEEE, I'm a firefigher on my truck.  Thank you Great Grandma Dorothy!  I love when Dad cruises me around on it.  I think I have a video of that, but I am on a time limit here so maybe next time.

Do I have something in my teeth?  Mmmmm peas.

Just waiting for some food...hurry up!

Here I am getting ready for my Aunt Julie's wedding.  It was pretty fun getting all dressed up.  I thought I looked pretty good, but I guess everyone was looking at someone else.

This is me watching the parade at Czech Days in Clarkson, NE.  I could not stop laughing at the Shriner cars, they were so funny!  They zoomed around and around.  Hopefully they will come to the Schuyler Parade.  Mom said they were there last year, but I was too little to remember.

Allright, times up!  "Get to bed Charlie,"  That's what they say.  What they forget is that I need help getting into my crib.  I know I'm getting big...in fact almost a year....but I still need some help! Good night everyone I will try to sleep tonight mostly to use the computer, but also to let my Mom rest.  She is crabby without sleep.  Just kidding Mom, I love you always.
